Restoria Becomes First Zero-Emissions Acrylic Bathtub Company
Restoria Bathtub Company today announced their full implementation of a virtual zero-emissions manufacturing process which makes the company the world's first fully verifiable "green" acrylic clawfoot bathtub company.
"This represents one of the proudest accomplishments in the history of our company," said Michael Mask, Restoria president and Chief Craftsman. "The achievement is proof that American companies can maintain local domestic control over the manufacturing process, produce a quality, affordable product, and do so in a manner that is environmentally responsible."
Mask is referring to Restoria's dual commitment to crafting products that are 100% manufactured in the United States while also meeting strict environmentally-friendly standards.
Restoria has pioneered the application of Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) technology to acrylic clawfoot bathtub manufacturing. RTM, most notably developed within the boating industry, features a closed-mold process that uses a vacuum-sealed mold to infuse fiberglass with a specialized resin compound. This results in virtually zero emissions, virtually zero waste, and actually increases the strength of each bathtub unit.
"We have been testing and utilizing the RTM method for approximately a year," said Chad Mask, Restoria vice president of operations and Senior Craftsman. "We wanted to ensure that we were able to provide our dealers and their customers with a green product that met our strict quality standards and could be competitively priced. Today, we're proud to announce that we have met our goal."
Restoria emphasizes that a key element in achieving the zero-emissions, zero-waste result was the company's commitment to maintaining a manufacturing process that is 100% based in the United States.
"We have said from day-one that we are an American-made product," said Chief Craftsman Michael Mask. "Because of this, we're able to fully control our process and ensure, first-hand, that we're environmentally friendly. Many companies who outsource manufacturing to international and overseas partners aren't able to do so with the degree of certainty that we can."
